Dear Christi

"When I lost my Lil' Girl- Curio, my very special Cinnamon Pearl Pied cockatiel to Zinc Toxicity, I felt my whole world crumbling around me and could not imagine life could ever be OK again. Then I met Christi!

Christi was/is more than just a cockatiel breeder. She became a friend, a moral support, an encouragement to me as I worked through the loss of my special Lil' Girl and also tried to help my assistance dog with it as well. At first all I knew was that I wanted a boy this time. Christi did not pressure me into anything as other breeders I had contacted previously had tried to do.

She let me decide for myself what type of cockatiel I wanted. When I decided upon the beautiful White Faced Silver, the waiting began. It seemed to me like a male would never hatch and I was all ready to just take one of those hens! But Christi was the strong one- she knew that the characteristics and behavior I wanted were not typical hen qualities.... and so I tried to remain as patient as I could. It was very hard- especially when she discovered she had hatched two female white face chicks and no males.

Then one day I got an email from her that she would be coming in a couple days! I was beside myself.... how on earth could she have pulled a rabbit out of the hat like that???? But she did, thanks to another client who needed to change dates with her. Because of this change, my wonderful lil' boy Nanook came into my life on May 29, 2001. He has gained himself many a nickname, but my favorites are Nook and Nooker.

He is more beautiful than I ever imagined he could be. He is the spunkiest, most adventurous tiel there could be---- a potential to get him into trouble obviously. As he sits on the apron ledge of his cage, grabs the blanket that covers his cage at night in his beak and goes WEEEEEEEE! down the apron turning it into a slide- I can see his sheer delight. I can not help but share in his thrills as I watch this lil' guys antics.

Thank you Christi for bringing this perfect lil' guy into our lives- to keep Met on his toes and to help my broken heart heal. He truly has been a gift from the heart."
